Causes of Subsidence - Soils

Why is Ground Improvement Important?

There are various reasons why ground might need improvement before being built on. One of the main reasons is the presence of a soil type that is likely to cause problems. One example is the presence of granular soils. Granular soils are free-draining, which can result in building settlement later on. On the other hand, clay soils are susceptible to swelling, which can cause heave.

Knowing the cost and issues that subsidence can cause later, your best bet is fixing it before you build. Addressing these issues early means that future problems are avoided. If you don’t properly prepare your ground, you're likely to run into severe problems when the building is placed. Settlement, subsidence, and structural damage are real possibilities if you skip preventative ground improvements.  Save massive costs and stress later on by trusting our Orange County ground improvement services today.

The Solution: A Resin Injection Process

Our ground improvement solution is an engineered procedure. The outcome of the procedure is to increase bearing capacity of the foundation. This occurs sometimes at throughout multiple depths and, other times, at one specific depth. Injection of expanding geopolymer resins hardens and strengthens the ground, which allows for leveling of the foundation for your Orange County home. The procedure allows densification and compaction of the soil directly under a building. Due to the enhanced process, there's no need for excavation, vibration, or mechanical force.

For homeowners in Orange County, Geobear's ground improvement services can be a fast and cost-effective alternative to piling and underpinning. It’s achieved by the controlled application of the forces generated by the expansion of unique Geobear geopolymer. Ground improvement, carried out by the team at Geobear, is a convenient and reliable process. More importantly, it keeps you living life as usual -  saving you time and money.

How it Works

The process for ground improvement solutions starts with surveying the soil conditions to determine how deep into the soil we need to inject the geopolymer. The composition of the soil also needs to be thoroughly analyzed, so that any obstacles in the soil are uncovered before injection begins.

Next, a series of small holes is drilled through the slab or soil to facilitate the injection of the geopolymer resin. Geopolymer is then injected to the desired depth directly below the foundations, binding with the underlying soil and, where appropriate, raising the foundations to the desired height. Our solution is durable and effective, resulting in ground improvement that will last.
