What is Soil Stabilization?
Ground stabilization or soil stabilization is the process of making changes to the soil to improve the soil's strength. Ultimately, it allows soil to hold more weight and increases its tensile strength. This creates a more reliable basis for building and construction works and can remedy existing issues with earth and subsoils that are causing problems. There are various different methods of soil stabilization available. At Geobear, we use geopolymer resin injection, the most modern and effective type, for our soil stabilization services in Orange County.
Geopolymer vs Older Methods
The geopolymer method of stabilization is the future when it comes to underpinning. Cement underpinning is inconvenient and costly. In fact, it's a much slower process than resin injection and often costs more money than our fast, non-intrusive resin injection method. Concrete requires a massive amount of excavation for it to work. You need to remove a load of the soil around and under the existing foundation in order to fill more space with concrete. This means that it takes a long time to finish. Resin, on the other hand, requires little or no excavation – it is injected via small holes bored into the soil all around the foundation.
NEED GROUND SOIL STABILIZATION?
Stabilization with Resin Injection
Here at Geobear, we use an innovative resin injection method for stabilizing buildings. Our soil stabilization services in Orange County are the first option for making your foundations secure and preventing them from sinking any further. Our injection solution for soil stabilization is a controlled process in which geopolymer resin is injected into the ground to prevent movement. The stabilization process uses resin injected at points beneath a slab, pad, or foundation. Then, the injected material expands to fill any voids in underlying soils and compact any existing made ground.
How the Soil Stabilization Process Works
Every single resin injection stabilization project we do is given unique treatment. Our Orange County settlement repair experts use a specific slow-expanding resin for each job, depending on the ground type and foundation. To achieve precision control, we set up monitoring systems to ensure no more than 250 microns of resistance on the slab or floor. Fundamentally, this precision control measures a lateral lift far too small for the eye to see that indicates that the ground beneath has been stabilized and your building is now safe.
The wet resin is absorbed by the surrounding soil and the two bind together. The resin then expands as it dries and then fills the void. This is a much faster process than the concrete underpinning. If soil subsidence is the main cause of your foundation woes, then resin injection is the far superior option, because of the way it binds with the soil. Concrete only adds mass to the existing foundation.
OUR EXPERTS DRILL HOLES IN THE AFFECTED AREA

At just 16mm, they're the size of an average ring and often we don't even need internal access.
WE INJECT A SPECIAL GEOPOLYMER RESIN

In a quick and easy process we inject a special geopolymer that will expand and harden to support the property.
THE RESIN INSTANTLY HARDENS LIKE CONCRETE

Within just 15 minutes the geopolymer has expanded to fill any voids and stabilise the ground and is already 90% cured.
THE PROPERTY IS RAISED AND FOUNDATIONS STABILISED

You'll see the results instantly. Often cracks disappear and doors unstick as we raise the property.
